Queensland Fire Department (QFD) has imposed a local fire ban for residents in parts of North Queensland.

UPDATE: Please be advised the local fire ban currently declared in the Gladstone, Bundaberg, Banana Shire and North Burnett Local Government Areas will be cancelled from 1130hrs Wednesday 29 October.

UPDATE: Please be advised the local fire ban currently declared in the Toowoomba, Southern Downs, Western Downs and Goondiwindi Local Government Areas will be cancelled from 2359 hours on Friday 3 October, 2025.

Queensland Fire and Rescue (QFR) crews remain on scene at a commercial structure fire on Old Gympie Road, Burpengary.

Firefighters are working to extinguish the fire, but smoke is expected to impact the surrounding areas, particularly the nearby town of Beebo, for at least the next several hours.
