Elgin Vale (west of Gympie) - vegetation fire as at 9.15am
Firefighters remain on scene at a bush fire burning at Manumbar Road, Elgin Vale (west of Gympie) which was sparked from a lightning strike on Thursday. Crews will continue to monitor the fire throughout the day and into the evening. Residents experiencing smoke in their area are advised to keep doors and windows closed and medications close by if they suffer from a respiratory condition. Motorists are also urged to drive with caution.

Cloyna (north of Murgon) - vegetation fire as at 9.15am
Nine fire crews remain at the scene of a grass fire burning in remote country near Cobbs Hill Road, Cloyna (north of Murgon), which was sparked from a lightning strike on Thursday. Firefighters are continuing to establish containment lines and are expected to remain on scene into the evening. The fire is not under control at this time however there is no threat to property. An aircraft is on scene assisting crews. An incident control centre has been established at the Murgon Fire Station and local residents with questions can speak with a member of the incident management team at the station. Residents experiencing smoke in their area are advised to keep doors and windows closed and medications close by if they suffer from a respiratory condition. Motorists are also urged to drive with caution.

Redgate (east of Murgon) - vegetation fire as at 9.15am
Multiple fire crews remain at the scene of a grass fire burning near the Burnett Highway at Redgate (east of Murgon), which was sparked from a lightning strike on Thursday. Firefighters are continuing to establish containment lines and are expected to remain on scene into the evening. The fire is not under control at this time however there is no threat to property. An aircraft is on scene assisting crews. Residents experiencing smoke in their area are advised to keep doors and windows closed and medications close by if they suffer from a respiratory condition. Motorists are also urged to drive with caution.
