Training Courses
Whether your organisation is large or small, QFRS-TEM can provide all necessary services, from advice and consultancy to specialised training programs to fully prepare your premises and personnel to manage an emergency.
QFRS-TEM can visit your site to discuss your individual needs and provide a training needs analysis. Training will be delivered by fully qualified professional fire officers with nationally recognised training qualifications. Training can be provided at your site with minimal disruption to your business or at one of our facilities.
As QFRS is a Registered Training Organisation many of our programs are nationally accredited. QFRS-TEM programs have been specifically designed to meet industry requirements.
New Fire Safety Adviser
Under the new Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008, high occupancy buildings will be required to appoint a Fire Safety Adviser.
A high occupancy building means any of the following buildings, other than a building used for temporary events as defined in section 32 of the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008.
(a) a class 2 or 3 building more than 25m high;
(b) a class 2, 3, 5, 6, 7b, 8, 9a, or 9b building that is a workplace-
(i) prescribed under the Workplace Health and Safety (ii) where 30 or more workers are normally employed within the meaning of the Workplace Health and Safety Act 1995, section 93(5). |
(c) a class 6 or 9b building that the commissioner has decided is an at risk licensed
building under section 104KD of the Fire Service Act.

The Fire Safety Adviser has a responsibility to :
- be familiar with all aspects of building fire safety
- provide advice to the occupier to ensure that appropriate emergency planning has taken place
- provide advice to the occupier to ensure that appropriate instruction is carried out at the prescribed times and intervals.
- Fire Safety Adviser accreditation is gained after successful completion of the training by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). Refresher training is required every 3 years to maintain the Fire Safety Adviser accreditation.
