Firefighter Competitions
The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service acknowledge firefighter competitions as a major strategy for improving the core operational firefighting skills of firefighters. The competition events (operational scenarios) not only reflect core skills and drills and the diverse roles performed by firefighters including rescue, incident command and community safety education, they also promote teamwork and skills maintenance training. The annual calendar of competition provides an incentive and challenge for all firefighters.
Firefighter competition events are open to all Queensland Fire Rescue Service (QFRS) full-time, auxiliary and volunteer operational firefighters.
