Firefighter Championships

To provide a highly competitive and realistic environment to develop and maintain the core operational firefighting skills of firefighters;
To encourage camaraderie between firefighters from various fire stations and rural fire brigades throughout Queensland in a friendly, yet competitive atmosphere;
To promote a positive image to the community of the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service and its firefighters;
To promote pride and self-esteem through teamwork as well as individual performance;
To foster volunteerism and family participation in the coordination and conducting of Firefighter Competitions;
To foster an awareness that all firefighters, whether fulltime, auxiliary or volunteer are an integral part of the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service in delivering quality fire and rescue community emergency services;
To provide a forum to promote fire safety awareness and public education within the community;
To provide opportunities for teams to represent Queensland at the biennial Australasian Firefighter Championship.
