STATEMENT OF AGREEMENT
By becoming a Peer Support Officer I agree to abide by both the spirit and the rules of the program.
I understand that serving as a Peer Support Officer requires the following commitment and obligations:
- Supervision by both a designated professional counsellor and the FireCare Manager
- Participation in on-going training and team meetings
- Completion of any required records for accountability and program evaluation purposes
- Maintenance of strict confidentiality
The QFRS Peer Support Program agrees to provide the following:
- On-going training at regular intervals
- Debriefing for Peer Support Officers after a CISD or as requested
- On-going support of a nature which will address both the personal and functional needs resulting from the peer support role
- Review and maintenance of the program in a way that reflects its commitment to providing a high quality service, which is responsive to the needs of all personnel
I have read and understood this statement and agree to abide by the rules and guidelines of the Peer Support Program.
I fully understand that any breach of confidentiality or activity deemed to be in direct conflict with the ethos of the Peer Support Program will necessitate a review of my status as a Peer Support Officer and/or dismissal from the program.
I also understand that I can voluntarily resign from the program if at such time my personal and/or professional commitments no longer permit compliance with the rules and guidelines of the program.
