 Bushfire Prepared Communities

When bushfire threatens your home, the big question you will face is: “should I stay and defend my property or go early?” Points to consider before you make your decision:

*The bushfire season in your area will most probably begin when the following conditions arrive:

  • Rain season has stopped
  • Humidity significantly drops
  • Temperatures generally rise
  • Bushland and vegetation dries out
  • Winds from the north and west prevail and increase in speed.

For a general rule of a bushfire-prone day-

Remember the rule of 30:

Temp >30 degrees C  humidity <30% winds >30knots =
